About
Hello, I’m Asia! I’m a UX designer who loves creating digital experiences that feel inviting, intuitive, and enjoyable. My background in hospitality taught me a lot about connecting with people, adapting to their needs, and telling great stories—skills I use now in my designs. I love UX because I can blend creativity with technical building. Representation and diverse voices inspire me, and I’m driven to work on products that bring people together, spark joy, and make a difference.
Before diving into UX design, I spent my time soaking up the food, music, and culture in Oakland, California—one of the most vibrant and diverse cities around. Growing up here showed me the power of storytelling in all its forms, from food to music to community traditions. When I started studying UX/UI, it clicked that digital design is just another way to craft meaningful experiences.
Working in the service industry was a huge part of my journey. Whether I was helping someone navigate a menu, describing a dish, or recommending the perfect wine, my goal was always to create the best possible experience. That same mindset carries over into my design work. I’ve learned how to read people and figure out what they need in the “moment”. Are they looking for lots of detail, or are they overwhelmed and just want the simplest option? Understanding that is key, both in serving people and designing for them.
When I’m designing, I’m always thinking about the user’s perspective. During interviews, I focus on really listening to what they’re saying (and not saying). While building designs, I try to prioritize what’s most important to them—whether that’s making something feel secure, helping them connect, or keeping things straightforward and easy to use.
In the next year, I want to keep building designs that make people’s lives easier. I’d love to work on projects that solve real-world problems, like improving the return process for online purchases or creating tools that just feel effortless to use. Wherever I go, I hope to be part of a team that values collaboration and sees design as a way to make a real impact.
Every step of this journey has reminded me why I love design: it’s about creating something meaningful that people not only use but actually enjoy.
